Henry Sampson - Boys
HENRY SAMPSON – Dr. Henry Sampson was born in 1934 in Jackson, Mississippi. He attended Morehouse College, graduated from Purdue University, then UCLA and finally the University of Illinois Urban Champagne. He is the first African-American to earn a Ph. D. in nuclear engineering. He helped pioneer the technology used in cell phones. The Gamma Electric Cell was patented in 1971.
