About the Divine 9 Sororities: There are 4 black women sororities. Three were started at Howard University, Alpha Kappa Alpha (1908), Delta Sigma Theta (1913), Zeta Phi Beta (1920) with Sigma Gamma Rho (1922) established at Butler University. The women of these organizations serve their communities well and continue to answer the call to service.
